Celebrity Stylist Gemma Sheppard Shares Her Glasses Style Guide In Light of Interesting Research Statistics

More than a third of the 2,000 UK adults polled by Vision Express admitted to slipping off their glasses for a social media photos.

In light of some interesting new research commissioned by Vision Express, highlighting how a large percentage of Brits only choose to wear their frames for certain social and professional situations; the eye health specialists have set themselves the challenge of changing the public’s perception on wearing glasses.

The research reveals that when it comes to being taken seriously, our glasses put us in the frame with over 60% of Brits saying we’d wear glasses for an important work meeting and over 50% for a job interview.

Interestingly, although we’re happy to be ourselves in frames on a romantic break (49%) and when on a date (39%), it’s a different matter when it comes to our online persona. More than a third of the 2,000 UK adults polled by OnePoll for Vision Express admitted to slipping off their glasses for a social media photo, proving we really are a ‘selfie-obsessed’ nation. The same applies behind closed doors with three out of four Brits taking their glasses off in the bedroom.

With the aim of changing the current UK statistics, celebrity stylist, Gemma Sheppard, gives her eye-defining style tips to members of the public at the Vision Express flagship store, at the launch of Vision Express’ new ‘Exclusive Brands’ collection.

With more and more celebrities wearing glasses on the red carpet, this collection plays hommage to glasses being a fashion must, and key fashion accessory. Gemma offers up key style tips tailored for different facial shapes to help the public make sure they choose the best glasses to emphasise their best features.
